Hotel or a housefor the crew?
For a crew staying two weeks or longer, a whole house is usually the better answer than hotel rooms: one booking, a bedroom each, a kitchen, a washing machine, parking for the vans and one number when plans change. For one or two people, or anything under two weeks, a hotel is usually simpler, and I will tell you so. KJP Property finds whole houses for contractors across Manchester and the North, at no cost to the company.

A room each, ora house together.
The difference shows up on week two, not night one. A hotel is built for short stays. A crew on a multi week job needs somewhere to cook, wash kit, park the vans and keep the tools.
| Question | Hotel rooms | Whole house |
|---|---|---|
| Booking | A room per person, often across several bookings | One booking for the whole crew |
| Bedrooms | A room each | A bedroom each, beds matched to the people coming |
| Food | Eating out or takeaways every night | A full kitchen, so the crew can cook |
| Laundry | A paid service or a launderette | A washing machine in the house |
| Vans and tools | A public car park, kit left in the vans | Parking and van access checked before you book, and secure storage where the brief needs it |
| Distance | Wherever the hotel is | Picked by distance from your site, closest first |
| The price | A nightly rate per room | One price for the house, shown per head per night for the actual stay |
| When plans change | Each room changed separately | One number to call |
| Short stays | The better answer | Most hosts set a minimum stay |
When a hotel isthe better answer.
A whole house is not always right. A hotel is usually the better choice when the stay is under two weeks, when it is one or two people, when the dates are not fixed beyond a few nights, or when you need a room cleaned every day.
I set the floor at two weeks because below that the saving rarely covers the extra arranging. If your job sits under it, I will say so rather than send you a house you do not need. Above it, every option I send has a cost per head per night for the actual stay, so you can set it against the hotel quote you already have.
Straight answers.
Is a house cheaper than a hotel for contractors?
Often, for a crew staying a month or more, because one house is priced for the group rather than per room. It depends on the town, the dates and the size of the crew, so every option I send has a cost per head per night for the actual stay, and you can set it against your hotel quote.
What is the minimum stay?
Two weeks. For anything shorter a hotel is usually the better answer.
How quickly can you find a house?
Two or three options within 48 hours of a complete brief: the town or site, the dates and how many people.
Who pays KJP?
The host. The search costs the company nothing.
Which areas do you cover?
Manchester, Greater Manchester and the North of England, measured from your site rather than the town centre.
Do you book rooms in shared houses?
No. Every option is a whole house or apartment for your people only.
Tell me the job,not the property.
Send the town or site, the dates and how many. Two or three whole houses come back within 48 hours, with a cost per head per night. No cost to you.
